Gathering Balance Update
Gathering Becomes Long-Term Profession Progression
Mining, Woodcutting, Hunting and Herbalism now use a durable progression curve while preserving every point of lifetime Gathering XP already earned.
What changed
- All existing Gathering levels are recalculated from preserved lifetime XP instead of being reset. No earned Gathering XP or gathered resources are removed.
- Every Gathering Level now adds permanent, diminishing resource yield: about +50% at Level 100, +200% at Level 1,000 and a long-run ceiling near +300%.
- Level requirements now rise quadratically, and extreme stacked XP and yield multipliers receive diminishing returns. Ordinary bonuses up to 2× keep their full value.
- Mining, Woodcutting, Hunting and Herbalism share the same authoritative curve and balance rules.
- Profession Mastery allocations are returned for free reassignment under the recalculated levels. Every owned and equipped Tool is preserved.
- Active Gathering Autos stop once during the conversion without consuming the Autos that remained.
- A catastrophe carrying a Gathering bonus now temporarily opens every Gathering profession at its exact center, even when that coordinate is not a fixed Resource Site.
- World Journey objectives for rare resources now identify the required profession and link to an operational matching Resource Site when one is available.
